Quick Facts

Bidopia is the name of Auction Flex's Integrated Web Service (IWS) and Internet Bidding Solution. Bidopia is unique in that it is both a self-branded solution and a portal. For an example of Bidopia being used for a self-branded solution, check out  www.auctionexample.com. To view the Bidopia portal and all Bidopia customer auctions, check out www.bidopia.com.

Self-Branded

Bidopia can be used to power your website no matter where your website is hosted. We start by creating a template based on your existing website (the template is completely free). We then provide you 3 special links to use from your website. These 3 links are for:

  1. Upcoming Auctions with or without internet bidding
  2. Past Auctions
  3. Email List Subscribe / Unsubscribe

For an example of what this looks like check out www.auctionexample.com . You will notice that the links to upcoming auctions, past auctions, and email list signup are all branded to the fictitious Auction Example company but are powered by our platform.

How Do Auctions Get Uploaded / Downloaded?

Auction Flex and Bidopia were built from the ground up to work together seamlessly. To upload an auction you simply build the auction in the Auction Flex auction management software, click upload and set a few options. Bidopia will show both catalogued auctions and non-catalogued auctions. You can have images on all lots, some lots, no lots, or just preview images for the auction. It's up to you as to how much you want to include.

At the conclusion of the auction, simply click a button within Auction Flex and all your bidders and bids are downloaded - instantly and effortlessly.

What About Internet Bidding?

The Bidopia platform supports two different types of internet bidding:

  1. Internet Absentee Bidding - used for pre-bidding prior to a live auction.
  2. Internet-Only Bidding - this type of auction is conducted completely online.
  3. Simulcast Capabilities coming soon!

About www.Bidopia.com

The www.bidopia.com domain is a portal website that is designed to be used by bidders. It includes all upcoming auctions from Auction Flex/Bidopia customers and provides free exposure to your auctions. Our goal is to make Bidopia a must-visit destination for bidders to find our customers auctions.

How Much Does It Cost?

The service exists in two levels. You can upload auctions, both current and past, and use the email list subscribe page for free. We only charge if you choose to add internet bidding to your catalog(s).

Our internet bidding solution costs $.25 per unique bid and maxes out at $50 per auction plus any credit card authentication registration fees (which is an optional part of bidder registration).

Just to reiterate: The IWS service is completely FREE to our customers. We only charge if you choose to add internet bidding to a catalog.

More on Internet Absentee Bidding

Internet Absentee bidding allows you to take bids up to the time that your live auction starts. Most customers will close internet absentee bidding a few hours before their live auction begins. Then, with a single click of the download button, all your bidder information and bid amounts are pulled into your local Auction Flex management software for use during the auction.

More on Internet Only Auctions

In an Internet-Only Auction you never actually conduct a live auction. These types of auctions are getting more popular. The advantage of an online-only auction is that the overhead of auction day is avoided, yet we can still bring certain "live auction" elements to the online bidding.

Internet-Only bidding options include:

  • Stagger Close - each lot can be set to close any number of seconds after the previous lot. You can also set the stagger to be variable so that there is more time between the bigger money lots, and less time between the lower value lots.
  • Soft Close - if there is a bid in the last 3 minutes the bidding on that lot can be extended by another 3 minutes. You control this setting so you could make it anywhere from 1 minute to 999 minutes.
  • Soft Close Grouping - You can group together lots so that if any lot of the group has its bidding extended by a soft close, all the other lots in that group will have their bidding extended too.
